We bring you the local scoop on news, events, community happenings, and entertainment with an emphasis on the west side of San Francisco. Why? Because we live here too! While downtown, SoMa, and the Mission get plenty of media coverage, you rarely hear from voices on the west side of the city.
We’re keeping it mainly west of Divisadero, though every now and then we venture beyond the fogline to cover what’s going on elsewhere We also write data-driven stories to help understand local issues.

What makes us different? The Fogline is a love letter to San Francisco’s west side written by a couple who lives in the Richmond District. It is a celebration of the people, places and stories that make this part of the city so special. We don’t have any sponsors, nor does the site have any paywalls or popups that ask for donations. We pay for all of the events we attend and write about, and buy all of the food and drinks for restaurants and cafes we review. We write about the things we genuinely love and enjoy about this part of the city.
