Bare Bones, a new rotisserie restaurant in Parkside, is now fully open and serving up whole and half birds. They also serve porchetta, salads, soup, sides, and desserts. Earlier this year, we posted a Taraval crawl highlighting Jandii and Welcome Coffee. It has been nice to see new ventures moving into this charming neighborhood.

We ordered one rotisserie chicken sandwich ($18) and one porchetta ($22). They are both served with tomatoes, pickled red onion, arugula, ají verde, and balsamic glaze. The rotisserie chicken on artisanal bread is juicy and flavorful. The porchetta is marinated in achiote paste. This is the standout dish for me. The skin is fried to attain a nice crunch, and the pork inside is perfectly tender.

Bare Bones is an exciting addition to the neighborhood for meat lovers. It offers a focused menu that delivers on quality roasts in a friendly, casual space. The bar currently pours beer and wine, and the team is pursuing a full liquor license. If you stop by, grab a counter seat, order the porchetta and pair it with a cold beer.

Bare Bones is currently open for dinner Thursday through Monday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
