The de Young Museum just opened "Monet and Venice”, a rare opportunity to see many of Monet’s works on Venice reunited in a comprehensive exhibition.

A long-standing feature of North America’s oldest public Japanese garden (est. 1894) are the cherry blossoms that typically bloom from mid-March through April. The blossoms are currently in peak bloom, their flowering accelerated by a recent heat wave. We stopped by on Friday to catch these beauties along with a sizeable crowd; many were working their angles to grab the perfect selfie under the blossoms. Since it had been a good while since our last visit, we made sure to take in the koi pond, the pagoda, and the drum bridge as well. The beauty of the Sakura is in their transience.
