8 Things I Loved at Outside Lands 2026

One of the many perks of living in the Richmond District is the ability to easily walk to top-tier concerts in Golden Gate Park. I’ve been attending Outside Lands for over a decade now, and plan to continue as long as I am physically able. Now that I’ve had a chance to recover from a few days of drinking and walking nearly 100,000 steps, I wanted to share some of my favorite experiences at this year’s edition of the festival.

Treasures of the Pharaohs at the de Young Museum

I spent an afternoon wandering through the new Treasures of the Pharaohs exhibition at the de Young Museum. It is easy to be dazzled by the vast history and sheer scale of ancient Egypt. This exhibit focuses on the special artifacts that were left behind and what those artifacts tell us about how the ancient society was structured. For me, there were three distinct layers of the exhibit that stood out.
