Inner Richmond’s Tiniest Park
Our local food runs for dim sum, Phi Long báhn mì, and Boudin Bakery often include a stop by Muriel Leff Park on 7th Avenue to enjoy good food and sunny weather in this charming little spot. The mini park sits behind the SFPD Richmond Station. This park is adorable with plenty of benches, picnic tables, and plants that were installed following a refresh in 2023. Our favorite feature is the pet board with photos and names of neighborhood dogs, cats, and an adorable iguana named Tacky.
A little local history
In 1961 Muriel Leff initiated the building of the park after getting permission from the police department and the city planning department. She collaborated with landscape architects to finalize the plans for the park layout. The park officially opened to the public in 1965 as the 7th Avenue Mini Park, then was later renamed Muriel Leff Mini Park in 2000.

Bottles on Balboa
During my weekly stroll from Outer Richmond to Inner Richmond (typically via Balboa Street), I discovered a new-to-me business, Slake San Francisco Bottle & Sundry. Slake describes itself as a neighborhood bottle and sundry selling wine, beer, spirits and pantry items. A peek inside revealed an intriguing selection of beverages.
I took a look at their website and noticed a calendar of upcoming tasting events in November and December and a helpful catalog of products on offer with prices.
I am looking forward to grabbing a bottle of wine and some gourmet food items for the upcoming holidays!

Happy Little Big Trees!
We are coming up on Veterans Day and a free national park entrance day in Muir Woods in Mill Valley. This is a wonderful park just a short distance from San Francisco that is known for having one of the last-remaining old-growth coastal redwood forests in the Bay Area. Fun fact: the oldest tree in Muir Woods is estimated to be at least 1,200 years old. Don’t miss this opportunity to wander among the giants for free!

Saint Frank Comes to The Inner Sunset
On Friday, November 7th, the Fogline editors headed to the soft opening of Saint Frank Coffee’s new location at the corner of 9th Avenue and Irving Street. Housed in the former Starbucks storefront, the space has been completely transformed into a bright, airy cafe featuring light wood tones, cozy benches, and plenty of comfortable table seating both indoors and out. The iced latte and iced mocha were both excellent.
